Construction, by its very nature, leaves an impact on the environment: excavation, earthwork, material transport, waste, and noise. It is not possible to completely eliminate this impact. What can be managed is to identify, before work begins, where and to what extent the impact will occur, and to mitigate it. At İmerek Yapı, we define our environmental approach within this framework.
The Principles We Uphold
- Comply with the obligations defined in environmental laws and regulations; manage the disposal of construction site waste in accordance with the relevant regulations.
- Identify the existing trees, vegetation, and natural landscape within the project area at the outset of construction planning; make site layout decisions in a way that preserves what can be preserved.
- Address soil, water, air, and noise pollution as part of construction site planning; in cases where such pollution cannot be avoided, choose the method that will minimize its impact.
- Reduce waste in the use of materials and resources; separate the recyclable portion of excavation and construction waste.
- We evaluate the construction chemicals we use not only in terms of their technical performance but also in terms of their environmental impact during application and disposal.
- Provide information to personnel working at the construction site regarding environmental obligations.
- Ensure that projects are in harmony with the architectural fabric and environmental character of Çeşme and Alaçatı.
What Does This Mean in Practice?
These principles are applied to each project based on on-site conditions. Since the location of the plot, existing vegetation, relationship with neighboring structures, and soil composition vary from project to project, environmental measures are also planned separately for each construction site.
Working along the coastline presents unique challenges: salty winds, high groundwater levels, and high traffic during the summer months all affect both material selection and the construction schedule. Taking these conditions into account not only minimizes environmental impact but also directly determines the structure’s lifespan.
